Anyone who has had great research success in the field of Tribology and who completed a dissertation less than ten years ago will have the opportunity to join the newly established "Early Career Editorial Board" of "Tribology Letters" based on the recommendations of established researchers.

"Tribology Letters" is a US-based expert journal of Springer Verlag, highly respected in the Tribology community. About 0 members from around the world were invited to join the new committee - notably two young TU researchers: Stefan Eder and Philip Grotzmachar, both of whom worked as postdoctoral fellows at Professor Carsten Gachot's research group at the Institute for Construction in TU Vienna.

Between basic research and application

Tribology is the science of friction and wear. This is of great practical importance to the industry - for everything from vehicle brakes to lubricants to machines that are supposed to work reliably for many years. But tribology is not just a science of experience. Fundamental scientific research has also long played a central role in tribology, for example when used to analyze computer simulations on an atomic scale, how energy affects a component in any way.

Inclusion in the "Early Career Editorial Board" of "Tribology Letters" is not only considered a great honor but it is also associated with the work: members must participate in the promotion of the Tribology community journal, actively participate in the rigorous peer-review process and the journal Help with further development. You will initially be appointed for three years, as soon as the research paper is completed ten years ago, you have the option to join the editorial board.
