In this situation, the use of electricity has also increased a bit. Concerned people say that our power generation capacity is much better now. So there will be no pressure on electricity. Rather, the use of such stoves can be encouraged if they are energy efficient.


The country is using pipeline gas as well as bottled petroleum gas as kitchen fuel. Apart from this, wood stoves and electric stoves are being used. Now the gas connection of the pipeline is stopped. In this situation, people are leaning towards alternatives. Electric stoves have taken the place of readily available and safe alternatives.



A housewife living in Khilgaon in the capital said she was living in a new flat. This flat has no gas from the beginning. As a result, he has to rely on an electric stove or induction oven for cooking. Asked about the cost, he said, even if all the cooking is done, the bill does not come to more than 500 rupees per month. On the other hand, an LPG of Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,600 is required for the same amount of cooking. But this is an average calculation. It largely depends on the amount of cooking.


A family of four or five members may need two cylinders a month to run all kinds of cooking. The price is at least two thousand rupees. On the other hand, the gas bill for a two-stove pipeline is Rs 950. On the contrary, it saves the cost of cooking on an electric stove by 500 rupees.


Power department officials say they have no monitoring of the use of electric stoves. Here it is up to the individual to decide who is meeting the fuel requirements of the kitchen. In this case, if someone thinks that the electric stove is affordable, then he can use it. There is no government prohibition in this regard.


State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid recently said that electric stoves are now being widely used outside the country. We can use it here too. Since we have an energy crisis, we can use such new technologies.


There is tempered glass on the induction stove. There is no fear of fire. Again, electric shock does not occur. Ink does not fall in such stoves. Again, all kinds of cooking can be done. Some of the electric stoves on the market require only certain types of pots. All types of bones can be used in some of them.


Domestic brand Walton, Vision's electric stove is in the market. Also, Miako, Singer, Konka stoves of different brands are available. These stoves are available at prices ranging from Tk 3,000 to Tk 15,000. This type of stove usually requires two thousand two hundred to three thousand watts of electricity.



It is learned that the use of such stoves is much higher outside the capital. In big cities where there is no gas, the residents are relying more on such stoves. Many people cook curry in an induction oven and cook rice in a rice cooker.


The gas crisis is also growing in the capital. Last week there was almost no gas in some areas of the capital, the gas pressure was actually low. Many people have solved their cooking problem by buying this type of stove at this time. One such person is Anamika Alam of Mohammadpur. He said there has been no gas since Tuesday morning. First I bought breakfast and ate it. Then at noon when I found out that the gas would come at night, I bought an electric stove and solved the problem. Then on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday there was low gas pressure. As a result, if there is any problem with gas now, I will not have any problem. And after searching, I found out that too many bills will not come in it.


Asked about this, Mohammad Hussain, director general of Power Cell, said, "We want people to use electric stoves." However, it should be energy efficient. He added, "If people in the village cook in electric stoves without burning kerosene or wood, the damage to the environment will be less." It is time for us to think about these things. Our power generation capacity is much higher now. More than demand. As a result, we want to make this electricity more uninterrupted and standardized in the industrial sector. At the same time, if residents can cook in an electric oven instead of gas, we will encourage it.


Concerned people say that if the government paid attention to the use of such stoves, good quality stoves would come in the market. This would reduce the cost of electricity. This would have reduced the customer's bill as well as the cost of electricity.
